July Alpaca Picks!

We continue to bring in great new selections for every palate!

Here are the July Alpaca Picks (enjoy 15% off any of these selections through the end of July)::

Domaine de la Bretonnière Muscadet Sèvre et Maine 2015

Classic expression of the Melon de Bourgogne grape with grapefruit, lemon, and mineral zest. The palate weight added by sur lie aging adds a nice buffer for the acidity… perfect with shellfish!

Talley Arroyo Grande Estate Chardonnay 2014

Classic Central coast Chardonnay with pear, stone fruit, and slightly floral nose… you feel the Arroyo Grande terroir with its unmistakable minerality and clean finish. Notes of citrus and almond.

Clos Pissarra Artisan Vineyard Grenache/Syrah 2012

Pissarra” is derived from the Catalan word for slate… very complex wine that is intense but balanced with medium acidity and a little spicy. Notes of violet and herbs.

Half Mile Obsidian Ridge Cabernet Sauvignon 2015

This is one of the most exciting Cabs I’ve discovered in the last few months. 2640 feet above sea level in the Mayacamas Range they are making some exceptional wines, densely concentrated, brambly, and decadent with blackberries, cassis, mint, and cocoa notes. Truly an elegant wine that feels a bit Old World. Jorge notes that a half-mile is nothing compared to his home in the Andes mountains.

FLORIDA CORNER:

Purely delightful wines including our consistent favorite Dragon Fruit Blush. We sold significantly more “dragon fruit wine” the first half of 2018 than any of the last 4 years… you cannot deny it’s the perfect summer (or anytime) wine …. also we are so happy to have the wonderful farm raised meads (“honey wine”) from Royal Manor… we finally have the top selling Craic Good Tyme Blackberry Mead back on the shelves along with Zom-Bee Raspberry Mead, Mango Mead, Rabid Rabbit Blueberry Mead, and more! The blackberry mead from Royal Manor was judged grand champion in the 2017 Texas Mead Cup!

We hope to see you at the tasting room, out at the stadium (next series is July 18-21 with the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp in town), in the community, and if you are reading this from far away, let us know if we can ship you a case of wine!
